national N.G.O affiliated to IYEC Cameroon which is accredited with the UN Consultatory Special Status with the Economic and Social council of
the United Nations,ECOSOC)

Context of Eastern the Democratic Republic of Congo

 

For more than two decades, armed conflicts have punctuated the lives of the peaceful populations of the African Great Lakes countries with particular consequences for women and girls and have left several groups of poor people and have increased vulnerability  of  women and their rights violations, several children on the street and the number of orphans without support as well as social inequalities in the Democratic Republic of Congo in general and in the province of North Kivu in particular.

Integrated Youth Empowerment Center ‘IYEC DRC ‘has opened it’s branch to DRC  to bring up support to Women, Children and other vulnerable  groups and to  contribute to the Human rights situation and Peace building in the DRC   and advocate for vulnerable groups and youth.

IYEC is working currently to fight against Gender Based Violence by training volunteers and send them in the community for sensitization in order to reduce GBV related to COVID19 and protect victims by partnering with the local police and sensitize for ending girls marriage., Also the Volunteers girls women and men conducted a survey to collect date related to women’s rights violations at the frontline of COVID19 and they work to collect data on  negative impact of COVID19 economical and social life of  women in small trade and living in poverty line in Goma, and NYIRAGONGO Territory

OUR WORK IN CONGO DRC

IYEC DRCworks in the following Areas:

IYEC  works with other associations in  Masisi territory  to protect children rights  and provide nutritional food through members contribution .If we are all involved we can save lives of children, women  girls and vulnerable groups  in DR Congo

IYEC through his partners Association of   United   Pastors ‘APU asbl“ are providing daily meal  and medical care support to orphans, children resulting fromRape, and children from HIV mothers, Street children  and indigenous children  at SAKE village and Masisiterritory at MUKOHWA village in conjunction with local partner. We help and advocate for the very vulnerable .

Indigenous pygmies of DRC are faces multiple discriminations and are totally poor and live in bad life condition.

IYEC DRC is providing humanitarian aid to starving   indigenous pygmies peoples such as beans, salt and Maize floorin partnership and collaboration  with indigenous Association in Goma,  in the Masisiterritory at KINGI  SiteVillage.IYEC works to give hope to the hopeless peoples
